Mash fermented, matured in a concrete egg & bottled unfiltered. Finely fruity, mineral cuvée from sand-lime stone.
Robert Parkers Wine Advocate: "Zillinger's 2020 Toast Hawaii Weiss blends Sauvignon Blanc and Traminer from the best Ollersdorf vineyards (limestone), with both varieties lightly fermented on the mash and then vinified in concrete egg for one year on the lees. Bottled unfiltered, this straw-yellow colored white opens with an intense, dense, aromatic, spicy, yeasty and even chalky bouquet. Lush, round and elegant on the palate, it has enormously lush fruit and a serious and persistent mineral grip. This is a beautiful, medium-weight dry blend with a fine phenolic/tannin grip and structure on the good finish. 12% stated alcohol. Screw cap closure. Tasted in December 2021."
